cnidarian

n. Phylum Cnidaria. A group of animals that includes corals, hydras, jellyfish, Portuguese man-of-war, sea anemones, sea pens, sea whips, and sea fans; and has the defining feature of stinging structures called nematocysts. (See nematocyst.)
